The long fiber of flax makes linen a very robust and durable material . The surface of linen is smooth , which means the fabric has lint-free and dirt-repellent properties .

Linen can absorb a lot of moisture to the point where it actually feels wet. As a result, linen fabrics leave your skin feeling dry and cool. For this reason, the fabric is extremely popular for sewing summer clothing, bed linen and bathing textiles.

The naturally dry and smooth properties of linen also ensure that hardly any bacteria form in the fabric. Linen is therefore considered antibacterial and particularly hygienic .
